Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy (/mɒ́ʒ/ /vʌ́ʃɜː/ [only] [puddle]) is a subtropical Town located in the Gē̌lerkéōw Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy is derived from the Goblin language, as Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy was founded by Hithwen Feiror Helethwen, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy has a yearly average temperature of 12°C (53°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a cool 16°C (60°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 8°C (46°F). Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy receives an average of 274 cm/y (107 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2400 m (7874 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy was founded durring the early 13th century in spring of the year 1247, by Hithwen Feiror Helethwen. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Hithwen Feiror Helethwen.

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy is buildings are located arround a single crampt paverstone mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy's failry decent fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

A look around Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. A second look around Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had.

Civic Infrastructure

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy. Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy's grid is powered by a boiler and turbine based power plant.

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy's natural decorations nor waterways.

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy's locals are divided into several castes. They may be organized by social role, by imputed nobility of birth, by ethnic origins, or any other dividing principle, but they cannot imagine any other way of organizing themselves. A hierarchy of castes is not inevitable, but there will be social and legal limits applied to ensure that each caste remains fixed in its function. The outside world may or may not respect these distinctions when dealing with the locals.

Maẃye Vúshër Vǖy's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..
